The Race & the Mill

The Perfect Race Week Base

The Circuit de la Sarthe is just 40 minutes from Moulin St Blaise — making the mill one of the most convenient and comfortable bases for the Le Mans 24 Hours. Close enough to attend the race, far enough to escape the campsite noise and crowds and come back to riverside peace each evening.

We've hosted Le Mans guests for many years and understand what race week needs: easy parking, flexible check-in, a proper bed to sleep in, and somewhere genuinely beautiful to unwind between sessions.

Race Week Tips

Making the Most of Le Mans Week

🗓 When is the Race?

The Le Mans 24 Hours typically takes place in mid-June each year. Practice and qualifying sessions begin on Wednesday/Thursday, with the race starting Saturday afternoon and finishing Sunday afternoon. Check the official ACO website for exact dates each year.

🎟 Getting Tickets

Tickets can be purchased through the official ACO website (aco.motorsport.com). Various ticket packages are available from general admission to grandstand seats. Tickets also sell out — book well in advance alongside your accommodation.

🚗 Getting to the Circuit

Drive to Le Mans (40 min) and follow race weekend signage to the circuit parking areas. Traffic management is well organised on race weekend. We can advise on the best approach routes and parking areas from our location.

🌙 Night Sessions

The race runs through the night — watching at 3am is one of the great motorsport experiences. Return to the mill for a few hours' sleep and head back out for dawn. Our flexible approach means you can manage your own schedule.

🍽 Food & Drink

The circuit has extensive food and drink options. For evenings at the mill, the gîte is fully equipped for self-catering and B&B guests can arrange evening meals. La Chartre (10 min) has good restaurants for a pre-race dinner.

📷 The Village & Le Mans City

The race village in central Le Mans is fantastic during race week — classic car displays, manufacturer exhibitions and a real festival atmosphere. The medieval old town is stunning and worth an evening visit away from the circuit.
